MIFARE Classic 4K apre molte nuove opportunità di servizio consentendo alle autorità del trasporto pubblico di implementare sistemi multimodali.

Può essere utilizzata in una combinazione di applicazioni per e-commerce contactless e/o e-business utilizzando una singola smart card.

A partire da maggio 2010, una variante MIFARE Classic 4K è disponibile anche con un UID da 7 byte.
